Glocomms is partnered with a social media giant looking to expand their global IT Security team with an experienced Enterprise Security Engineer. The IT Security team serves as an internal partner to business units across different time zones to support security processes, long-term operations, and assessment/remediation of potential vulnerabilities in a system that supports more than 100,000 users.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Manage and optimize enterprise security tools and operations, including firewalls, IDS/IPS, CASB, and endpoint protection solutions.
- Lead security architecture reviews, audits, and new technology implementations to enhance our overall security posture.
- Respond to security incidents promptly, conduct thorough investigations, and implement remediation actions to mitigate risks.
- Help develop and maintain documentation of security policies, procedures, and guidelines.
- Collaborate with global teams to ensure alignment with security best practices and regulatory requirements.
Key Qualifications:
- 4+ years experience in IT security operations, with a focus on managing and optimizing security tools and operations.
- Proficiency in a variety of security tools and technologies including scanners, SIEM, secure email gateway, EDR/XDR, antivirus, CASB, firewalls.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex security issues and provide effective solutions.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities, with experience working with global teams.
- Knowledge of at least one general purpose programming language (ie. Python) is highly desirable.
- Understanding of threat hunting and/or offensive security techniques is a plus.
- B.S. in a related technical field is required; relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CompTIA Security+) is preferred.
This role will be fully on-site in the San Francisco Bay Area (San Jose). Interested candidates must be local or willing to relocate within a reasonable commuting distance.
